Overview

The Department of General Medicine is the integral part of health care system and the back bone of the hospital that provides comprehensive, holistic medical care to the patients with several medical ailments which includes infectious diseases, metabolic disorders, endocrine, hepatobiliary, renal, cardiac, neurological, nutritional disorders. Further the services are extended to include the geriatric care, critical care and hematological disorders. This department is pivotal for the entire hospital, offer opinions and treatment recommendations to various other departments.

Team of General Medicine comprises of extremely skilled, potential, dedicated and philanthropic mix of senior consultants and vivacious junior physicians led by an expert faculty.

The Medicine outpatient department functions throughout the week which includes public holidays as well. The meritorious services of the Consultants are available in person and on-call, focusing the essential patient care with relevant investigations and other diagnostic procedures.

As part of outreach activity the community awareness and development initiative are carried out to deliver medical and specialist care to needy places where health care facilities are deficit. More so, free camps and community events are organized for the poor and downtrodden.

24-hour dialysis unit is available providing 3–4 regular shifts for a consistent flow of in- and out-patients.

24-hour Critical Coronary Care unit is also available for acute coronary illness.

Emergency department functions round the clock to provide utmost care to the toxicological cases.

Timings

08:00 AM to 07:00 PM  on all days. 

08:00 AM to 01:00 PM  during Sundays & holidays

Unblemished services with regard to various specialty clinics like Diabetology, Hypertension, cardiology, neurology, Geriatrics, Hematology, and Nephrology are being organized throughout the week.

It is imperative to make a mention about both Diabetic and Hypertension clinics. Both these clinics are systematically organized for 6 days in a week providing extensive care to establish the diagnosis and to recognize the complications too. The team approaches the patients with empathy and care.

Inpatient Care

Inpatient care is facilitated by means of eight medical units, providing the top class quality. Apart from general medical wards, special wards are also available with extra amenities. All patients are triaged at the zero-delay ward and are transferred accordingly to the intensive medical care unit and so on for prompt treatment.

The most distinguishing salient feature of the intensive care unit is that it is fully equipped with all necessary lifesaving equipments, such as multipara monitors, ventilators, centralized oxygen and suction facilities, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, and defibrillators. This unit provides services pertaining to medical emergencies like acute myocardial infarction, stroke, and metabolic derangements, as well as toxicological emergencies such as acute poisoning, snake bite, scorpion sting and other bites.
